Marriage ceremonies are performed in the registry marriage rooms between the hours of 9.30am - 12pm and 2pm - 3.30pm Monday to Friday. A ceremony can be organised by completing a 'notice of intended marriage' and making an appointment to lodge the form at this office with payment of a fee.

You can get a notice by visiting the office or by contacting a marriage enquiry officer by fax (08) 9264 1517 or phone (08) 9264 6112 between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively, you can also download the Notice of Intended Marriage - Form 13 for completion. If you want to lodge the notice in person, phone (08) 9264 6112 to arrange an appointment.

At this appointment, the marriage enquiry officer will check the information, sight documents and make arrangements for the date and time of the ceremony. If you use a fax or post the notice, you will have to provide contact numbers or an e-mail address. Fees are payable when you lodge your notice of intended marriage.

On the day of the ceremony, the registry celebrant on duty will perform the legal requirements for marriage in Australia. The bride and groom need to arrange for two adults, of at least 18 years of age, to be present to witness their marriage. Other friends and family members are more than welcome. The marriage room has seating for 22 guests. Photographs and videos may be taken at any stage during the ceremony.

Your wedding is a very special event and it is suggested that all attending the ceremony dress accordingly. You may decorate the wedding room with flower arrangements or simply carry a bouquet or posy.

Soft music is played during the ceremony and you are welcome to provide your own CD or cassette. It is essential that the wedding party and guests arrive at least ten minutes before the appointed time of your ceremony.
